Shane Lindsay struck out nine, did not allow a run and walked only one batter in seven innings against Lake Elsinore on Friday night. The Nuts (16-19) won for the first time in six games as they defeated the Storm (17-18) 4-0 at John Thurman Field. Modesto shortstop Daniel Mayora was three-for-four at the plate with two runs scored in the win.

Chad Tracy and Johnny Whittleman both scored two times in Bakersfield’s 7-3 win against Modesto on Thursday night. The Blaze (20-14) pounded out 15 hits against the Nuts (15-19) in the victory. With the loss, Modesto was swept for the third time this season and second time in a row. The Nuts have lost six straight games.

The Bakersfield Blaze torched the Modesto Nuts for 10 runs on 18 hits in a rare Wednesday afternoon start at John Thurman Field. The Blaze (19-14) defeated Modesto (15-18) for the second straight day with a 10-6 win. Simon Ferrer started for the Nuts and took his league leading sixth loss of the year after allowing five runs in five innings. Cal. Poly San Luis Obispo product Evan Reed (2-1) earned the win for the Blaze. Michael McKenry led the Nuts with two runs batted in, a solo homerun and two runs scored. Modesto has lost five straight and four of five against Bakersfield this season.
